What is a semi-permanent brow treatment?

A semi-permanent brow treatment is a cosmetic procedure designed to enhance the shape, fullness, and definition of your eyebrows using techniques that last longer than makeup but aren’t permanent.

These treatments deposit pigment or restructure brow hairs to create a fuller, more defined look. Unlike traditional tattoos, the results gradually fade over time.

Microblading – uses a fine blade to create realistic hair-like strokes with pigment

Ombré / Powder Brows – gives a soft, shaded makeup effect

Combination Brows – a mix of microblading and shading

How long does the appointment take?

The initial treatment takes 2 hours

The top-up is usually required 6–8 weeks later and takes around 1 – 2 hours.

During the treatment, the area is thoroughly cleansed and the brows are carefully mapped to achieve a balanced, tailored shape.

The semi-permanent makeup procedure is then performed using either a manual tool for microblading or a machine technique for ombré and combination brows.

The treatment is completed with the application of a soothing healing gel to support the recovery process.

How long do results last?

Microblading

12 – 18 months

Best for normal to dry skin

Ombré / Powder Brows

1.5 – 2.5 years

Great for all skin types, especially oily skin

Combination Brows (Microblading + Shading)

12 – 24 months

Longevity sits between microblading and ombré

Great for all skin types, especially oily skin

Important to know:

A top-up at 6–8 weeks is essential to lock in results

Annual colour boosts are recommended to keep brows fresh

Longevity depends on:

Sun exposure

Skin type (oily skin fades faster)

Skincare (especially acids/retinol)

Will I need a touch-up?

Microblading

Requires a touch-up every 9–12 months

Microblading uses fine, hair-like strokes, so the pigment can fade more quickly, especially on oily skin or with regular sun exposure.

Ombré / Powder Brows

Needs maintenance every 12–18 months

This technique deposits pigment more densely, giving a soft, shaded effect that tends to last longer and fade more evenly.

Combination Brows

Requires maintenance every 12–18 months

The blend of microblading strokes with shading for a natural yet defined look.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Pre-appointment Guidelines:

- Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours prior
- Do not take blood-thinning medications (e.g. Aspirin, Ibuprofen) for 24–48 hours unless medically necessary
- Avoid retinol, acids, or active skincare on the brow area for 5–7 days before
- Do not wax, thread, or tint your brows for at least 1 week prior
- Avoid sunbeds, sun exposure, and chemical peels for 1–2 weeks before
- Arrive with little to no brow makeup if possible
- If you’ve had previous brow work done, please inform us in advance

On the day

- Eat beforehand to keep your blood sugar stable
- Stay hydrated
- Allow enough time for your appointment (up to 3 hours)

Following these steps helps with better pigment retention, reduced sensitivity, and optimal healed results.

What is the healing process like?

The healing process for semi-permanent brows takes around 7–14 days, with full results settling over 4–6 weeks.

What to expect

Days 1–3:
Brows will appear darker, bolder, and more defined than expected. This is normal.

Days 4–7:
Light flaking or scabbing may occur as the skin heals. Brows can look patchy but avoid picking.

Days 7–10:
Brows may appear lighter or faded as the pigment settles into the skin.

Weeks 2–4:
Colour gradually returns and softens into a more natural result.

Week 6–8:
Your top-up appointment perfects the shape, colour, and any areas that need reinforcement.

How do I care for my brows?

Brow Aftercare

Aftercare is essential to ensure the best healed results and long-lasting pigment.

First 24–48 hours

Keep brows completely dry
Avoid touching the area
Gently blot if needed (do not rub)

Days 2–7

Apply a thin layer of aftercare balm as advised
Avoid water, steam, and excessive sweating
No makeup on or around the brows
Do not pick, scratch, or peel any flaking skin

Days 7–10 (things to avoid)

Swimming, saunas, and steam rooms
Intense workouts causing heavy sweating
Sun exposure and sunbeds
Skincare products with acids or retinol on the brow area

General care

Keep the area clean and dry
Let brows heal naturally (no picking)
Expect light flaking and temporary patchiness

Can I still wear makeup on my brows?

It’s best to avoid wearing makeup on your brows during the healing period to ensure the pigment sets properly.

During Healing (First 7–10 Days)

Do not apply makeup on or around the brow area
Avoid powders, pencils, or creams that could interfere with pigment retention
Touching or rubbing the brows can also cause patchiness or infection

After Healing

- Once fully healed, you can use makeup to enhance or shape your brows if desired
- Use gentle, non-abrasive products to avoid fading the semi-permanent pigment
- Continue following long-term care tips, like SPF protection, to prolong results

Tip: For a natural finish during healing, focus on other parts of your face, your brows will gradually settle into their final, soft, defined look.
